February's 2010 CU Station of the Month N4DA - Milton Lord
Milton has been a Ham since 1965 - currently an Extra Class Ham and holds an FCC 1st Class Commercial License. Loves to Contest, work RTTY and CW and is the keeper of all things intellectual for the Country Uncles. Also Milton is the Owner of Ham Radio Repair "The Radio Doctor." http://www.n4da.com
While normally, we will ask the Ham being featured in the CU Shack of the Month to write a brief introduction, in this particular case no introduction for Milton is necessary.
However, to borrow a line from the GEICO Lizard - we will present 10 interesting "Fun Facts" about Milton - a few might be classified as "Tongue in cheek" others may actually contain a spark of the truth.
1) Milton has strict Business practices at Ham Radio Repair - meet his credit manager positioned above his shop entrance door below.
2) Milton loves history - particularly History concerning World War II - The Berghoff seems to be a favorite place and he has fashioned his own estate around it. His home is perched on a hill with unobstructed views in all directions for security reasons.
3) Accordion music and polkas are his favorite music and he plays them all the time - sometimes for us all to enjoy.
4) While certain other songs from World War II also hold a favorite place in his heart particularly those originating deep inside Eastern Europe.

5) Milton is considered by many to be a technical genius - just look at the unique mount for his Web Cam in the Photo layout below.
6) Milton's on air Microphone selection is unique at times. Price is of no concern - the lower the better.
7) The Antenna Switching network at N4DA's Station is the envy of NASA for its simplicity in design and operation - see photos below. You would need a full CRAY computer to decipher it.
8) Typically Milton runs QRP for maximum communication reliability and readability.
9) Milton has developed a year round tan from the Gamma rays coming off all the monitors at his site.
10) If Hamburger Steak is on the Menu - Milton is having it.
